At West Coast Cure, we prioritize the health and safety of our customers. All West Coast Cure products must pass compliance tests from state-licensed laboratories before being released for sale.
In addition to the pesticides that are required to be screened in California-mandated compliance testing, West Coast Cure now requires all distillate used in our products to pass Category 4 R&D Tests (“CAT 4”). As this new standard continues to evolve, CAT 4 testing equipment, tolerances and methodologies may vary from lab to lab, but all include testing for additional pesticides and compounds that are not currently included as Category I or II Residual Solvents or Processing Chemicals under California regulations.
It is important to acknowledge that CAT 4 testing does not ensure the complete absence of all pesticides. Instead, a passing test indicates that residual levels for certain categories of pesticides are below thresholds independently determined by the testing laboratory.
West Coast Cure currently procures CAT 4 testing only from state-licensed laboratories that offer CAT 4 testing. As standards evolve and more laboratories begin to offer CAT 4 testing, West Coast Cure may use additional or different laboratories for such testing.
West Coast Cure requires all laboratories that provide CAT 4 testing to screen for a number of additional compounds, including but not limited to the following pesticides:
Pymetrozine
2-phenylpheno
Fluopyram
Fenvalerate
Propyzamide
Propargite
Pyrimethanil
Cyprodinil
Buprofezin
